Private Events

All private events include a minimum of four (4) telescope setups, with available upgrade options that can skew the event towards either visual observation or astrophotography depending on your preference. Upgrades are available for larger groups or specialized goals, including solar observation during the day or scheduling for times of year when the most planets will be visible. If you or your guests would like to incorporate your own gear we can work it into the event, but you would be responsible for setup before the event and break-down after the event. We also offer some events that are less technology-intensive, and more in tune with other creative outlets such as light painting, meditation, culinary experiences, and wine or spirit tastings. We are happy to work with any events planner, or with enough notice we can handle some basic event coordination or work with you to design some other concept you have in mind!

After-Hours Astronomy is based in Fort Collins, CO, and we primarily operate along the I-25 corridor from Denver up to Cheyenne, WY. That said, we are happy to work from really anywhere within a drivable distance, there will just be a surcharge based on mileage for anything beyond 50 miles from zip code 80528. Your venue or location can be anywhere with clear view of the sky, whether that’s a back yard, an office building, or an official dark sky park. If you’re coming from out of state or if you simply need assistance finding the right venue, we can also help you do any necessary location scouting and astronomical planning needed to make your perfect party.

At After-Hours Astronomy, we have the equipment and the knowledge to transform everyday celebrations into celestial experiences. Whether you’re hosting a business event, exchanging vows under the Milky Way, or simply planning a large event with good outdoor space, our private sky tours redefine celebration! Imagine a wedding reception where guests marvel at Saturn’s rings through a collection of high-end telescopes, or a team-building retreat lit by the glow of the milky way under dark skies. No matter your vision, we can help make sure that your guests are truly starstruck!

We collaborate closely with you or your design team to create an outing that works with your (or your group’s) interests and styles. We can facilitate anything from a guided deep-sky photography session , to an immersive storytelling voyage through constellations, or even a relaxed night of sipping champagne and sketching the planets. For corporate groups we can work with your planners to develop workshops that blend cosmic exploration with team collaboration, while weddings and proposals would benefit from our ability to integrate astronomical activities into ceremonies that are both formal and casual. And with enough lead time we can even provide (optional) custom star charts, prints, or other related keepsakes for your guests’ enjoyment!

Included with all private events:

  • 4 Telescopes of your choice - See the Available Equipment page for more information on our world-class selection of optics and astrophotography equipment.

  • Up to 5 Hours per event of curated astronomical experience and guidance from our team.

  • Digital downloads of all astrophotographic data captured during the event. This will be available within +48hr of the event, and will remain available for 30 days.

  • (Optional) Assistance with planning and location scouting if needed/wanted.

  • (Optional) Planning for specific astronomical events or targets like meteor showers, eclipses, planetary conjunctions, and more!

Available Upgrades:

  • Additional scopes or equipment on top of the 4 setups included with all events.

  • Sound system package (including microphone)

  • Private chef packages (Coming Soon - Rates TBD)

  • Wine or spirit tasting packages (Coming Soon - Rates TBD)

  • Custom star charts commemorating the event - requires 30-60 days of lead time. Rates upon request.

  • Custom prints of images taken at/during the event - priced upon request. Metal and classic photo print options are available. Rates upon request.


Cancellation Policy for In-Person Events:

  • 7 days notice or more = Reschedule for free -OR- cancel for a 90% refund

  • Less than 7 days notice = Reschedule for $250 -OR- cancel for a 50% refund

  • No cancellations or refunds available with less than 48hr notice.

    *The only exceptions to our cancelation policy will be in cases of severe weather events or natural disasters. This would not be for just a passing shower or thunderstorm, but rather a weekend of rain, damaging winds, hail, tornadoes, fires, etc…. If there is any question we will reach out to you to discuss on a case-by-case basis. However, if there is evidence beyond a reasonable doubt it will be provided to you by email, and After-Hours Astronomy reserves the right to cancel any such event or excursion up until the scheduled start time. All parties will be offered a full refund or free rescheduling should this occur.
